Course Description

This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely and effectively operate a skid steer loader for tasks such as loading, carrying, moving and placing materials.

The training is designed for individuals working in construction, civil, earthmoving, mining and other site-based environments where skid steer loader operations are required.

Participants will learn how to plan and prepare for skid steer loader operations, safely operate the machine, handle materials, use appropriate attachments and complete workplace housekeeping activities.

Course Outcomes

On successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

1. Plan and Prepare for Skid Steer Loader Operations
   • Identify workplace requirements, hazards and operating conditions.

   • Safely remove, fit and secure attachments.
   • Operate attachments in accordance with manufacturer and workplace requirements.
5. Prepare to Relocate the Skid Steer Loader
   • Prepare the machine for safe relocation.
   • Follow appropriate site and transport procedures when moving the equipment.
6. Conduct Housekeeping Activities
   • Clean and secure the work area after completing operations.
   • Identify and report equipment faults, damage or hazards.
   • Complete required workplace documentation and procedures.
